Please contact us if you have tighter dimension tolerance requirements than our standard tolerances listed below. Due to manufacturing and cutting tolerances, sheet length and width may vary by +/- 1/4".

Colored cast acrylic sheet thickness tolerances are +/- 10% and can vary throughout the sheet, but variations are typically less than 5%. Please refer to nominal and actual sheet thicknesses below.

3/16" = 4.5mm = 0.177"
1/4" = 5.5mm = 0.22"

Colored cast acrylic sheets can be purchased in a range of colors, tints, tones, and sizes. They are moisture resistant and quite impact resistant despite their lightweight properties. Compared to extruded acrylic, cast acrylic has a higher molecular weight. This makes it better for shaping, machining, and laser cutting

Common uses for colored cast acrylic sheets are signage, tinted windows, artistic and architectural applications, POP displays, and furniture. The paper masked cast acrylic sheets offered by Acme Plastics come in a rainbow of colors and are available in several thicknesses.

Standard sheet sizes are 24" x 48", 48" x 48" and 48" x 96". Custom cut option is available.

Does plexiglass discolor?

Plexiglass, also known as acrylic, is very resistant to discoloration and fading. As a result, colored sheets will not noticeably discolor for decades, unless it becomes dirty or is chemically damaged. Plexiglass is inherently 92% UV resistant, and a special coating can be applied to make it 98% UV resistant.

Can Plexiglass Be Tinted

Plexiglass can be easily tinted with almost any color by adding a small amount of dye during the manufacturing process. It is rather difficult to tint plexiglass after it has been produced, however. Consumers should be aware that standard window-tinting materials will not work on plexiglass, and they must purchase specialized films to tint plexiglass sheets.
