Plastic tubes are plastic shapes made from the process of plastic extrusion. The process of plastic extrusion is when melted raw plastic material is pushed through a die to form a shape. When this extruded plastic cools, it hardens to form the final shape. Plastic tubes and rods are made using the extrusion process but differ; plastic tubes are hollow while plastic rods are solid. Generally, rigid plastic tubes are referred to as tubes or pipes and flexible plastic tubes are referred to as tubing.
