What is Ultem?

Ultem is the brand name for a type of PEI (polyetherimide) amorphous plastic that offers high strength, excellent chemical resistance with a high service temperature. It has a distinct amber-to-transparent coloring.

What is Ultem used for?

Ultem is a high strength plastic with excellent chemical & hydrolysis resistance, and excellent electrical insulating properties that can tolerate high temperatures. The combination of these properties makes it ideal for use in autoclave applications, high voltage circuit breaker components, jet engine components, and microwave applications.
